Growing up I saw many versions of A Christmas Carol on TV。 A favorite growing up for me but for whatever reason I never read the original。 Boy was I missing out。 When I heard that LaVar Burton was doing a free audiobook for apple books I was on it。 It was the perfect combination of nostalgia。 The book version gives a more complete image of how awful Scrooge really was。 Of course making his transformation more complete。 I enjoyed sharing this with my boys, a perfect Christmas memory。

Having watched so many different versions of this, it was wonderful to finally sit down and read the actual story。 A wonderful tale, and no surprise that Dickens is still so highly thought of today。 Loved it。

It's my first time reading Dickens ans I have to say I really love his writing style。 I do have to admit I was a bit lost during stave three, but I did catch the moral of the chapter and it all started to make sense at the end。 It's my first time reading Dickens ans I have to say I really love his writing style。 I do have to admit I was a bit lost during stave three, but I did catch the moral of the chapter and it all started to make sense at the end。 。。。more

Truly a Christmas Classic。 🎄🎅🏻

It was a pleasure listening to this classic on Audible。 I listened to the version narrated by Hugh Grant。 It wasn't the most dynamic narration but he seemed to find his footing after a bit。 Shockingly, I've only ever seen movies, plays, animation depictions, etc, of this story and had never read the book。 I still want to read the actual hard copy book soon。 I will make this an annual read during the holiday season。 It was a pleasure listening to this classic on Audible。 I listened to the version narrated by Hugh Grant。 It wasn't the most dynamic narration but he seemed to find his footing after a bit。 Shockingly, I've only ever seen movies, plays, animation depictions, etc, of this story and had never read the book。 I still want to read the actual hard copy book soon。 I will make this an annual read during the holiday season。 。。。more

I‘ve seen dozen adaptations of this story but it was so much fun! I love that we got the happiest happy end and Tiny Tim will live。 Also the book is more socially critic than most movie adaptations which I really enjoyed。 I‘m stil a fan of the barbie version though!

A favorite and annual read。 This year I did the Audible version with Hugh Grant narrating。 It was quite enjoyable。

I usually don’t listen to the classics。 But when I saw that Tim Curry was the narrator, I knew I had to make it a point to listen。 He did not disappoint!! He was excellent and made A Christmas Carol enjoyable to listen to。 I will have to revisit this book every Christmas season!

This was a joy to listen to :) (also, I love Disney’s A Christmas Carol, and that love was affirmed by it being pretty much shot-for-shot accurate of the book)

I'm catching up on the Happier with Gretchen Rubin podcast and I kept these two bonus episodes for Christmas time, which I happily realised was now upon us。 I enjoyed the audio version, and even though Gretchen Rubin isn't a professionnal reader, it felt like a friend was reading it to me。 The production was also good for something given freely to listeners like that。The story itself was very interesting! Although I have read many of Dickens' books over the years, somehow I never got around to reading this one until this year。 I count this as either his best or among the best of all he has written。 His magnum opus。This was such a joy to read - great characters, witty dialog, and beautiful descriptions。 I can see why some people read this book again and again。 Although I have read many of Dickens' books over the years, somehow I never got around to reading this one until this year。 I count this as either his best or among the best of all he has written。 His magnum opus。This was such a joy to read - great characters, witty dialog, and beautiful descriptions。 I can see why some people read this book again and again。 。。。more

Extremely important that I listened to this while it was snowing outside in December。 I think this made the experience even better, but I couldn't help picture every character in the book as the animals from the Disney show。 Extremely important that I listened to this while it was snowing outside in December。 I think this made the experience even better, but I couldn't help picture every character in the book as the animals from the Disney show。 。。。more

My first time reading this warm and happy Christmas classic!! I LOVED it - there were so many times I had to reread a paragraph just to let Dickens’ words soak in。 I was pleasantly surprised by the funny moments sprinkled in with the moving redemption story arc。 Perfect read for this cozy time of year!
